£30m life science fund makes first investments

A £30m fund which targets life-science investments in the Greater Manchester and Cheshire regions has completed its maiden deals.

The Greater Manchester and Cheshire Life Sciences Fund has invested in Manchester-based start-up Biorelate and Pronec, which is based in Alderley Park.

Dr Gareth King, investment manager of the fund, said: “I’m delighted that we have successfully completed two seed investments in very exciting innovative companies. Pronec is a cancer therapy company and Biorelate provides biomedical knowledge databases.
