Tomkinson Heating Ltd, the family-run heating system company, is set to deliver on a contract for UK hospitality group QHotels with £156k in funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

The contract, worth £500k, will see the Macclesfield-based firm install combined heating and power (CHP) systems at a number of the company’s hotels across the UK.

The first site to receive Tomkinson’s CHP will be the Ashford International Hotel in Kent, which is aiming to halve its energy costs over a 10-year period. Following the Ashford International project, Tomkinson will work on another QHotels Group site in Crewe.

The company’s CHP systems generate gas into electricity, producing savings of 35% on current electric costs. Tomkinson charges the hotel an amount for the energy costs each month to allow the 140kw CHP unit to be installed for free. Read more
