Flooded Lymm business owner celebrates recovery with new shop

A LYMM business owner who was left without the financial support she was promised for more than two months after the Boxing Day floods is celebrating getting back to work by opening a new shop.

Christine Gilbert, 52, of Christine Gilbert Designs, said Councillor Russ Bowden helped her secure the money she needed to get back on her feet after other local politicians stopped taking her calls.

She said initially the government missed Warrington off the flood relief list so the council had no money for damaged businesses.
