Deadline for High Sheriffs award entries approaching

The High Sheriff’s Awards for Enterprise were founded by a former High Sheriff of Cheshire, Mr David Briggs MBE KstJ, in 2006 and this year the Awards are proud to be celebrating their 10th Anniversary year.

These prestigious business accolades have attracted support from a whole host of sponsors who recognise the spirit of enterprise and development in the county, and the Awards are made possible thanks to significant contributions from these generous and loyal sponsors as well as coordination from the High Sheriff’s office, the University of Chester and Cheshire Business Leaders.

The Awards, which recognise successful businesses across Halton, Warrington and Cheshire, highlight outstanding achievement by local companies with a turnover of at least £500,000 and between 5 and 250 employees. Entrants are judged by a panel of senior members of the Cheshire business community who all give their time voluntarily to these Awards. They are independent and objective and judge businesses on a range of criteria including enterprise, responsible business practice, innovation, excellence and export.

The Awards are presented at an annual Awards Evening. Previous guest speakers at the Awards have included Prof Phil Redmond CBE and Mrs Alexis Redmond MBE, Tom Bloxham MBE, Ross Warburton MBE, Dr Pete Waterman OBE, Malcolm Walker CBE, and John Timpson CBE.

More than £10,000 has been raised during the Awards Evenings for nominated charities that have included Claire House and the Five Hospices of Cheshire. Read more
