Food ingredients firm expands HQ

MACCLESFIELD-based Direct Food Ingredients is taking more space next to its headquarters, as growth continues apace.

The business, which imports, stores and distributes functional foods, nutritional and sports ingredients as well as vitamin and mineral premixes, is on target to reach a record £16m turnover by the end of December, a 16.8% increase on last year.

The company, based in the Bull & Gate building on Waters Green in the town centre, has taken the top floor of neighbouring premises on Short Street, located on the historic 108 Steps Route.

Steve Loake, managing director, said the extra space will allow Direct Food Ingredients to increase staff numbers from 18 to 22 over the next 12-18 months. Read more
