A £700m-turnover recruitment outsourcing business in Cheshire that works with well-known clients including the NHS, Sainsbury’s and Warburtons has been acquired in a management buyout.

Established in 2001, Knutsford-headquartered de Poel manages temporary workforces for more than 120 UK-wide clients and generates revenues in excess of £700m. The senior management team has acquired a majority stake from the previous owner and founder in a multimillion-pound management buyout led by group managing director Andrew Preston to support further expansion and the continued development of products, technology and sector specialisms.

Preston has assumed the role of chief executive after managing a period of significant growth for the business in the health and care market, which follows a 20-year career across FTSE 100, PLC, private equity-backed and owner-managed recruitment and health organisations. John Walker, formerly of Equistone Partners Europe and Barclays, will become de Poel’s new non-executive chairman and support the board in all aspects of corporate governance and delivering strategic growth plans. Read more
