Profits climb at A-Plant parent

Half-year pre-tax profits have climbed by a fifth to almost £350m at Ashtead Group, which is behind the Warrington-headquartered equipment hire company A-Plant.

The company has posted underlying pre-tax profits of £342.7m for the half year ending 31 October 2015, which represents a 21 per cent year-on-year rise. Underlying earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation climbed by 22 per cent to £591.8m over the same period.
