Acquisition tees up growth at luxury golf resort
A luxury golf resort in the Cheshire countryside has broken the £10m turnover mark in the year that it bought a 55-bedroom country house hotel out of administration.
The Mere Golf and Country Club, which runs the four-star hotel and golf resort off Chester Road, has grown turnover by 6 per cent to £10.5m in the 2015 calendar year. The largest contributor was food and bar sales at £4.4m followed by accommodation sales at £2.4m, leisure sales at £1.5m, subscription sales at £1.3m, and other sales at £782,248.
Meanwhile, the company also saw pre-tax losses narrow by 42 per cent to £498,446. Operating profits increased by 291 per cent to £256,753 and EBITDA climbed by 11 per cent to £2.1m. Read More
