Point Blank Digital – Cracking the code of business
Growth Hub supports digital and website experts with their bold UK expansion plans
“Holding down full time jobs and starting a company from absolutely nothing is an incredibly daunting prospect, but with passion and drive – and by listening to good people and seeking out the best possible advice – we’re proof you can achieve anything”, says Darren Graham, one of the co-founders of Macclesfield-headquartered Point Blank Digital.
Darren and his fellow directors – all self-styled “social, search and web junkies” – are already shaking up the North West’s digital scene and the company has bold ambitions for growth.
From the Directors, who set the company up in 2012 whilst holding down full time jobs, Point Blank Digital on Hulley Road now boasts a team of seven and is eyeing up new satellite locations in the Midlands and London. The expansion is part of a renewed focus on business development for the company, led by Darren.
“As with all rapidly growing companies like ours, the decisions we make around what risks to take and when to take them are crucial”, he added “But we’re determined to put ourselves in the best possible position for growth.”
After securing a range of big contracts and hitting saturation point with the current in-house team, Darren and the directors knew their next steps, in terms of funding for growth and securing the right people to help, would be critical.
The Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub’s regional business advisors helped the team explore funding options but with the help of good planning and prudence in key areas, Point Blank Digital has been able to self-fund its bold expansion plans.
Thanks to an “inspired piece of advice” from the Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub, Point Blank Digital was challenged to look at the option of an apprentice, and it’s a decision that is reaping its rewards. Sign-posted by Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub to a local training college, the company is just about to bring in its first apprentice account manager, freeing up Darren to focus on growing its client base still further.
“The apprentice we’ve discovered is a real gem and we’re excited about what they can bring to our company”, added Darren. “It was an inspired piece of advice, which we hope will reap dividends for the business. The support we’ve received from the Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub has really helped us take things to the next level.”
